Whether it's your first child or an addition to your family, Uvalde Memorial Hospital is the right place to welcome your baby into the world.

Our maternity wing offers private birthing rooms allowing patients and their families to experience a feeling of home while they are here. Our labor and delivery rooms offer ample room for physicians and nurses to provide needed care and your family to provide support.

Our Specialty

Our caring, friendly staff will give you the personal attention and care you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Your care is managed by your doctor and our registered nurses. Registered nurses in the Women's and Newborns' center complete extensive training and all hold S.T.A.B.L.E. and PALS certifications amongst many others.

Safe Sleep Hospital

UMH Women's and Newborns' Center has been recognized as a Cribs for Kids® National Infant Safe Sleep Initiative Bronze Certified Safe Sleep hospital. The Cribs for Kids® National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification program awards recognition to hospitals that demonstrate a commitment to reducing infant, and sleep-related deaths by promoting and educating on best safe sleep practices.

This 60-second video is part of the Safe to Sleep campaign, an effort to educate parents and caregivers about ways to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) and other sleep-related causes of infant death. The video portrays what a safe sleep environment looks like and describes other ways to reduce the risk of SIDS and other sleep-related causes of infant death.

If you are expecting, Childbirth Education Classes are held monthly free of charge.
